Description:
This is a sterile hybrid with blossoms that resemble Crinum augustum, but the bulbs are smaller like Crinum moorei, with a long leafy neck supporting the spreading leaves.
The plant can reach 5 ft. tall and has strappy foliage from giant fleshy bulbs. The flowers are purple with white stripes, clustered on heave inflorescences that often bend and touch the ground.


Geographic Distribution:
Queen Emma Lily is said to come from Sumatra.

Native Legends and Names:
This species is known as the "Queen Emma Lily" in Hawaii. A planting exists at the Allerton Garden in Kauai in front of the Queen Emma summer cottage.
