WATERFALL DISCOVERY TOUR (Hō`ike) - a guided tour experience
An exclusive behind-the-scenes visit to areas in McBryde Garden and Allerton Garden not seen on the daily tours
Explore a magnificent waterfall trail through a lush tropical paradise abundant with vibrant exotic plants. An ever-present glimpse of a secluded waterfall makes this an extraordinary way to experience McBryde Garden. Next visit an "intensive care unit" for endangered species that includes a micropropagation laboratory where plants can be regenerated from just small bits of tissue.
Your tour concludes on the "Jungle Side" of the Allerton Garden. You’ll see towering Moreton Bay fig trees that look almost primeval, unusual palms, and plants from the faraway islands of Micronesia.
Tour includes water, juice, and snacks.
McBryde Garden and Allerton Garden are tucked away in the Lāwa‘i Valley. Tour check-in is at the Southshore Visitors Center, a short distance from the Valley rim. Your tour includes Garden transportation into and out of the Valley, along a spectacularly scenic route.
